Kombucha Beer Seabirds is Landing :) Seabirds Menu

Los Angeles Vegan Beer & Food Festival is close to heaven. Unlimited refills of some of the best beers on Planet Earth, partnered with some of the most fun food you can possibly eat.  I’ll just start where we started: Seabirds. Beer Battered Avocado Tacos are the best and we got some amazing Cheezy Garlic Knots. More posts to come. Cheers!

Hallovegan

This is just hands down one of the coolest costumes I have ever seen. Recently Deceased from Beetlejuice.  It’s so fun and so cool and she won the contest.  Hooray!  And yes, there was seriously an all Vegan Halloween Party at Verdugo Bar last night.  I didn’t know what to expect.  It was amazingly fun.

Earlier in the day Mochi was working on her Halloween stare.

7 Yards of Velvet to make my amazing cape.  I can’t believe Alix made it Friday night, it’s so awesome.  Watching An American Werewolf in London (1981).

Here is my cape in its final form.

Twice Baked treats are really good.  I wish I got more.

There was also super awesome empanadas from Pacha that I ate plenty of but I didn’t take snaps.  And check out these treats from Amanda’s Bakery.  This party was like Vegan Heaven.

Vegan Police were on the scene.

Vegan Zombie Brains.  Deep fried Mac & Cheese balls.  And a witches finger = jackfruit taquito. I voted for Frankenstein.  Who did you vote for?

It’s time for the costume contest.

The two costume contest winners.  Recently Deceased (left) and Mommy Dearest (right)

What is life without Seabirds?  A very sad life, we love them.

Beer Battered Avocado Tacos.

And Frankenstand is the coolest.  They had a new item on the menu.  Keep your eyes peeled.

It’s crazy Halloween isn’t even until tomorrow.  So much fun festivities to still do.  Have a fun and amazing Halloween and don’t forget to support and love your local  vegan pals.

Seabirds / Moby

Alix and I rode bikes over to Moby’s art opening last night.  We hit up Seabirds, and were lucky enough to chat with Moby who has been vegan for 21 years.  It was cool.

Stephanie of Seabirds and Moby.

Getting around on bikes in Los Angeles is getting cooler and cooler.

I like bringing my 5 lb jumbo yellow lock for my bike.

Neat art in ballona creek.

The Los Angeles art scene.

Balsamic Glazed Beet Salad with almond feta and olive oil drizzle.  Super awesome.  We had the beer battered avocado tacos as well.

Destroyed, Moby.   We took photos of the photos.

Moby draws on Seabirds truck.

Here is Moby’s drawing on Seabirds truck.

The Los Angeles Vegan Beer Fest was awesome.  My friends and I had the best time.  We were probably the first people to buy tickets for this event, we also showed up early and left late.  Bikes were our transportation of choice and we made it home safe and sound.  I had never been to a Beer Fest before so I had no idea the level of fun I would have.  I’d put this at a 9 out of 10.  Maybe in a few weeks it will be a 10 out of 10, only time will tell.   First off the beer was awesome and all of the food was off the charts.  I was coached by beer fest pros to drink, eat, drink, eat, drink, drink, eat, drink, drink, drink.  This technique worked out well. With The Frankenstand, Doomies,Seabirds , Mandoline Grill, Yalla Truck and Fresh Fries surrounding me I figured I’d have to pick just one or two places to dine.  But guess what?  I had food from every single one.  For most of the day I hung out with my friends and Raymond at The Frankenstand.  I also made regular trips to Doomies and was a total newbie to Seabirds which I loved. My first set of photos I dedicate to Frankenstand because we had so much fun hanging out and tasting cute little glasses of beer together.
I love the decor.  I love The Frankenstand style.
Hey that’s me with my orange hat.  I have way too many photos of myself in this post, but that’s okay it’s all for the greater good.
Kyle ate at the Frankenstand at least 3 separate times throughout the day.  It became common to get a Franken and have someone else take a few bites until it was gone.  Then you’d go back and get another one and the same thing would happen.  These things are so good.  And so, so many toppings.  I’d love to see Frankenstand take over the world with their carts.  I was walking down the street the following morning to the La Brea Tarpits and low and behold in front of my barely open eyes I see the Frankenstand. I had Frankens for breakfast.
Look at these cute little mugs.  And this one has a hops bag in it.
It’s Alix aka cute and delicious.  We shared this amazing lemongrass tofu bahn mi sandwich from Mandoline Grill.  Wow it was so good.  No seriously I was shocked at how good it was.
The Oaked Arrogant Bastard from Stone Brewery is highly recommended.
It’s time for me to try Doomies Buffalo Legs.  I’m so happy they’re reopening. I’ll be going to  that $10  all you can eat deal on the 20th of November.
I got the Jalapeno Poppers from Doomies as well.  They can explode, and they did.
An Empanada wow.  I didn’t eat this one.
So you’ve had about ten maybe fifteen 4oz glasses of wonderful tasty beer and you crawl on up to the VIP room for the special tastes and here it is “The Don” a triple IPA at 11.2% alc. from Speakeasy.  It just throws you over the edge.  But it was so good.
I’m stealing this next paragraph directly from cute and delicious she is my future wife and she says it’s cool.  Next up was the jackfruit tofu taquitos and the beer battered avocado taco from Seabirds Truck. Holy crap. I’m still in awe that there’s a completely vegan food truck, let alone one that is better than half the restaurants in Los Angeles. Beer Battered Avocado Taco. Do I have to say more? Every word is delicious!
I had to try the vegan shrimp cocktail from Doomies.
Adam, Shawn, Baxter,  Buddies.
Doomies makes sushi!  It was So good: faux tuna and faux shrimp with cream cheese, all topped with that awesome sauce.
Baxter and Jesus.
I think Kyle had more to drink than anybody.  He was having so much fun.
Wait, what, it’s all over already?  Not yet, It’s Kyle and Jannatha on their tandem.  We all road bikes to our place for a little after party (watching movies).  Actually it was a Harry Potter marathon.  Getting amped up for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.  For more photos check out my flickr.
