How long have I been going to Flore? Since before they were open. How is this possible? Back in the day Flore was kind of Tierra Cafe in downtown Los Angeles. And for a couple years Tierra Cafe was hosting an insane vegan brunch on Saturday and Sundays in preparation to open Flore. I’m also a big fan of the Meet Market which has the same owner as Flore and it’s right down the street on Sunset blvd. Meet Market has a vegan brunch on saturday and sundays similar to the old Tierra Cafe special. Shhh… don’t tell anyone but that old school brunch was at least twice the size of the new one, luckily I have photos from way back in 2006 to prove this brunch existed but I won’t be posting those today. Now onto my family style brunch a few days ago at Flore.

I can’t resist putting in two cool photos from the store next door to Flore. This is what I was staring at for hours during our pleasant wait for a table. We had seven people which is quite an amount for Flore. It’s very cozy inside.

Okay, this is exactly what I was in the mood for, the vegan benedict. It was massive and the chashew cheese was amazing. This was a perfect way to start the day and thank goodness I was hungry. The avocado, kale and wonderfully seasoned tofu with some slices of fresh tomato to create the perfect vegan benedict.
od because it was that kind of day.Blueberry buckwheat bliss pancakes. Yum. $10.95
The French toast was very tasty but I really wanted to skip eating a very sweet breakfast since I ate a dozen cupcakes during the past week so I only had a tiny bite. Also the mint latte is highly recommended. We were at Flore for a couple of hours, had fantastic service and a really great brunch. We got a large quantity of food to go because we had a busy day ahead of us. All the main courses are roughly $8-$11.00. Flore is highly recommended. Sure this place is very trendy, it’s right in the heart of Sunset Junction. I tend to go to lower key places or I head to Flore at the least crowded times. Saturday at noon it was slammed but well worth the wait if you’re hanging with the right people. For more info go here http://florevegan.com/
