There was a huge snowstorm. My first breakfast was donuts from Ronald’s.  We drove to Utah so we stopped in Vegas and got a dozen for the road.

For a camera nerd like myself getting to check out Canon’s new C300 was a dream come true.  Not a perfect camera but pretty amazing nonetheless.  Why does it have to be so expensive???

I got my badge, espresso, and plenty of tickets to some incredible movies.  I don’t know if Sundance still programs films this cool (jk) but here is my short film Ignite that got in a few years ago.  Lucky for me Sundance has an awesome Alumni program.  Thank you.  And for the record I have never had an institution as supportive of my film career as Sundance has been.  Thank you.   

I was able to go to a few premieres which is pretty fun since all the cast and crew are there.  I know some people go to Sundance for parties but there are so many movie nerds that go just to watch movies = me. 

I went to Vertical Diner three times.  It’s so frggin good.  A vegan diner that serves breakfast all day and has a wonderful selection of local beers.  

Homemade vegan cheese in this awesome quesadilla.  Amazing Tender Tigers = fried chicken tenders with ranch.

In Park CIty I love hanging at Squatters.  They have several good vegan items on the menu and quite a nice selection of beers on tap.  Fun times.

I love that they have a mondo vegan breakfast and vegan pancakes.  

We went to the premiere of Compliance.  There was a huge uproar from the audience afterwards.  Quite exciting.

It snowed a lot.  Here I am helping cars stuck in the snow.  I pushed a lot of cars Saturday.  Which was a good idea because we needed 7 people to get our car out of the snow late in the evening.  Helping each other out = cool.

I was so happy when we scored tickets to see The End of Love.

And look it’s Mollie, the magic behind KindKreme and one of the producers of The End of Love.  

We had to dig the car out three times.  This was the easiest time.

I almost forgot the good eats I got from Cafe Trang.  Lunch special.  Yum.  And it’s like 10 steps from the Sundance HQ.

There was some really cool stuff going on in the New Frontier building.  I think this section is usually free to get into during the festival. 

Vertical Diner and Sage’s Cafe are connected, not physically but they’re connected.  We went to Sage’s for brunch and it’s really good.

Pesto crepe, french toast and breakfast sandwich.  Unbelievable.  I love breakfast.

There was a lot of nice sunlight heading into Sage’s Cafe.

I grew up in the snow and I have always loved it.  I miss seeing all the snowplows and the artifacts of a snowstorm.

This looks like the same plow that saved my school in the 80’s.  The driver is waving to me.  Hello.  There are friendly people here.

Wait, it’s one of the last movies we get to see at Sundance before we head home.  One of these days we’ll go for the entire festival.

Have you seen the movie Rubber?  It’s about a killer tire.  This is the director Quentin Dupieux.  This is right after seeing his new movie Wrong.

We barely made it to this theatre in one piece.  A treacherous snowstorm almost got the best of us.

We’re back at Vertical Diner for breakfast.

Breakfast sandwiches are the best.

Biscuits & Gravy are the best.

This crazy breakfast is the best.  We left town in style with this unforgettable meal.

Time to go home.  Boo.
