Shojin

Yum!  Shojin.  It’s really good.  I don’t have a lot to say about Shojin except that it’s awesome and that you should really try as many items as possible when you go.

Of course It’s nice to order dishes gradually so you have plenty of time to draw with the markers they provide. And they have a nice variety on every table.

This is my absolute favorite dish at Shojin.  Spicy Rock Shiitake Tempura: tempura shiitake mushrooms marinated with spicy wasabi vegan mayonnaise.  Wow.  The flavors are shocking.

The sushi is wonderful as well.  I believe they only serve it with brown rice.  I do wish they had a white rice option.  The Caterpillar Roll with seiten inside and avocado on the outside is amazing regardless.

If you like to draw and you like food you know where to go.  Shojin probably ends up costing $30-$500 for two people depending on how much food you order ;)

Yes this is for real ^

Fillet-O-Kara Fish is a combination of crispy homemade veggie fish and a seitan nugget skewer served with lemony tartar and miso demi-glace sauce!.  This is really good too.

Chocolate Lava Cake with raspberry vanilla vegan ice cream.  Yummy.

Finished what next?

Movies.  This is the first time in a long time I went and saw a movie and absolutely no one else was there.  I use to be a projectionist at this theatre.  The Mann at Hollywood & Highland.  I mostly worked at the Chinese theatre next door back in 2001.

These are really cool vegan shoes I got for my birthday.  They’re Macbeth vegan shoes.  What movie are we seeing?  Up in the Air.  A little late to the game, and probably why no one else was there.

Oscar tour.  Enchanting.  And much more to see at the miraculous, incredible, unbelievable Hollywood & Highland complex.

I wanna go back to Shojin!  For more info go here http://www.theshojin.com/
